Hershey Bar snowpeople

Hello my fellow crafters,

As you may know I have been making a lot of my christmas presents.  So I made these snowmen/women. lol. and I think they turned out so very cute!   I have seen a few different versions of these snowmen, I have seen them first on Kerry's Paper Crafts blog, and since then I have seen them else where.  I can't remember the blog that I had first seen them being made with gloves, which is the idea that I like since your giving a gift as well as chocolate.  So I went to the local dollar store and picked up some mittens, and chocolate bars from walmart, and printed out the pdf file with the snowman body and away we went.   These took me less than 5 minutes to do. So they are a fun and easy project for anyone on your list.

Here is a picture on how they turned out ... there are two different snowmen, one using gloves that had fingers cut off and then they have another part that goes over top so I made it look like they were wearing a rounded toque.   The other was a pair of mittens, and I just tucked the second mitten in-behind it on the back.

Hot Cocoa Sliders

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Here are some more crafts that I have been up to recently.  Yes I know, I am posting again this week its a Miracle.  My goal and I guess New Years Resolution, is to post on my blog more actively and do more crafting projects, since my dream would be able to do what I love as my job, which is crafting.   So I figure I should start here by showcasing my work, and then we will be able to see my work as it improves, since there are still a lot of projects that I make that I am really not happy with, however I am still learning, with all my Youtube watching, and planning to attend more card making classes.  (Especually since there is a new AWESOME local craft store.)

Anyhow, I had first seen these hot cocoa sliders from Kerry's Paper Crafts, and if you have never checked out her site, you definitely should as she is very talented, and has LOTS of great ideas.  I find her a real inspiration, among many others in the crafting world that I follow.  Here is a link to the hot cocoa sliders she did this year .. they are beautiful.

Here is a picture at my first attempted at hot cocoa sliders, I tweaked the measurements a bit to fit my hot cocoa since they were Starbucks Hot Cocoa and they were taller than the ones Kerry used.   I have since made other ones using regular hot cocoa, which will be for the kids in my family the Starbucks ones will be for the adults.

Here is a picture of my first made sliders (not very happy with them, but I can only improve Right?!)

Very First Stamping Up Class - Christmas Cards

Hello My Fellow Crafters,

I am very sorry that I have not posted in a while however life has been crazy busy, with moving, christmas shopping, and all the crafty presents that I have been making when my child is not home.  (Some were attempted when she was, however it always ends up giving me a few more gray hairs.lol.)

On December 2nd 2011, I finally attended my very first Stampin' Up card class with my local demostrator, and I had a BLAST!    We made 4 cards , 2 cards with 2 different designs, and we got to make a bonus card which inspired me to create when I got home, as well as get the stamp set "snow much fun" lol.

Here are the photos of my beautiful cards:

My day of craftiness with my friend.

Hello Fellow Crafters,

I finally got some time to have some crafty fun, on Monday and Tuesday, since my daughter is with her dad until Thursday, and there had been a bunch of techniques and stamps that I had been dying to try out, which were my new sweet pea stamps, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE.   If you want some awesome artsy stamps you should definately check them out.

Post-it Note Holder

Hello Everyone!

Lately I had been watching a lot of videos on making Post-it Note Holders,  however none of the measurements really worked for the pad that I had, so after trying a few different measurements I finally decided to it a bit different.  I made my post it note holder more like a book, since I couldnt get the scoring the right way.

I cut 2 panels at 3 1/4 square, then I cut the designer paper at 3 1/2 x 7  (next time I will do it a tad bigger to make it easier to wrap it.     The peice of the same designer paper was cut 3 1/4 v 6 1/2 ish.   Sorry I sort of just looked at it and then checked to make sure it would fit well before sticking it down.  To get the width of the post it note holder I took the post it notes and stuck it on its side then marked it with a pen since it was going to be covered up anyways.  then put it down a hair.

Since there were some mistakes, as this is my first one ever I decided I will give it to a friend of mine who loves birds she has about 30 of them.

Note: Paper I used was fairly thin - so may not work with thicker paper like Papertey ink.

Here are the pictures:

Supplies:

Stamp set - Inkadinkado - True Friend
Paper :  Dollar Giant Paper 5 for a $1.25
Punch: EK Success - Scallop Boarder
Markers: BIC Mark-It Markers
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black and  Tattered Rose Distress Ink

Thanks For Stopping by.. have a good day!

Treat Cups ---

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Well lately I have had a little more time on my hands,  so I wanted to share some things with you.  One I saw a video today that has inspired me to make a treat cup to go with my nieces birthday presents.   I watched this video from Kerry's Paper Crafts.   If you have never checked out her blog you definately should she is super talented, and has lots of great ideas.   The template for the treat box is from Waltzingmouse Stamps who has a lot of great templates.    I will update with photos when I am done.

Hope you are inspired by something today. Bye for now.

Budget Friendly Markers - Alcohol Markers

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Today I am sooo excited to share what I found out today.  I had seen them in the stores and wondered about them however watched my usual videos today and saw one in particular that got me thinking.   I saw the StampTV video today where she was using the BIC Mark it permanent markers, which are alcohol based markers.   They certainly don't replace the Copic or Prismacolor markers however they are a good alternative while you start to build your Copic collection, and who knows you may like them better.

So after watching that video I wanted to try them so I went out to Walmart and found them in the stationary section and picked up 36 marker set for around $20.00, then got home and decided to try them with the printer cardstock I had which is 100 sheets for $7.00.   So far I really like them, since they blend nicely, and give you the streak-free colouring affect, which I LOVE,    So if your interested in how they work check out Gina K's video on stamp tv using the markers.  Part 1 HERE  Part 2 HERE

Papertrey Ink

Hello my fellow crafters,

Hope your all have been having a great summer!   I am really liking this sunny cooler days, I think as I am getting older fall is becoming one of my favorite seasons. Which I am sure I will be looking forward to more and more once my 2 year old daughter is in school. lol.

I am so very excited to say that I finally got my first Papertry Ink order at the end of last month.  Yes I know took me long enough to post about it, however since being a single working mom, my posting/creating time is very limited.    I did manage to get some time last night while my daughter was sound a sleep, to play with my new stamps and dies some more.   I can say now that I have now fallen in love with my Fruit Fusion stamp sets (apple, pear, berry, grapes, melon) and dies from papertrey ink. The only one I didn't get from the sets was the Cherries, however with the next time I order I think I may just get it.  These stamp sets are only $5.00 each, and they have lots of versatility.

Here are some pictures of what I did last night:  (just realized that I didn't play with my berry one stamp set)  I was mainly just practicing getting them lined up and took me a bit to get the hang of, however once I got it I loved how my apples turned out.  The apples were the only one that I cut out the others I just stamped.

I also got paper trey ink paper sampler pack, since I was not too sure about it.  I had heard lots of good things about it so I figured why not.  So far the only paper I had a chance to experience was creative memories as I used to be a consultant yeears ago, so had lots of it left over for solid paper, and for pattern paper, I have bobunny, k&company.   I am developing a paper addition, however I have a very hard time using it.  They look so pretty I don't want to ruin it by cutting etc. lol. I can hardly wait till I do another order with Papertrey Ink.  I have a huge wish list of stuff I want from them.

Happy Crafting All!

Jewerly - Rings

Hello Everyone!

Lately I have been away from the paper crafts and into my jewerly crafts.  I have been makiing elastic rings with swavorski crystals, seed beads and glass beads.   Most of the supplies I have gotten from the dollar store except the crystals... I get those off ebay since they are cheaper.   I am going to start making window sun catchers once I get the supplies for that.

Here are the rings I made so far.  My favorites are the pink one and blue, black and clear one.

Easter bags and bday card.

Hello Everyone!

Yesterday I had decided to make a birthday card for my nephew's birthday that is on the 15th.  He's going to be 6 years old.. (boy time flies) and he loves dogs, so I was trying to find a puppy svg file when I remembered on the sweethearts cricut cartridge has a puppy on it for puppy love.... so I thought that would be perfect.

I cut the puppy out at 3 1/2 inches and the paper I used was paper that I had on hand from creative memories and the dollar store.    I used some glitter glue for the tounge.   When it was first made I loved it until my  daughter got her hands on my vintage photo distress ink and started banging it over the puppy which created the lines.. *sigh*   however I didnt want to make another one so I figured my nephew is not going to care either way.

Here is the photo of the card.   I used an ek success punch I had for the bottom on the card and then pasted the chocolate cardstock behind it just to make it all coordinate.

Then the next project that I started to make (since my daughter fell alseep)  were the easter bags that I decided to make for my 2 neices and nephew.. only got the 2 girls done.    So I had gotten these bags from the dollar store they are favor bags, and I just reinforced it with pink creative memories paper I had.   The eggs were from a scrapbook calendar that I cut out.

I am planning on putting some easter treats in these bags.. I have some playdough eggs that I had gotten from the dollar store and I will probably put an kinder surprise egg in each and then whatever else easterish I can  find that will fit nicely.

Hope you all like it!  Thanks!  Let me know if you have questions or what you think of my projects.

Stamped Images and Colouring - Copic Markers & other

Hello All,

I know again it has been a while since I last posted, I have been busy with my daughter and couldn't seem to find the time to do anything crafty as if I take it all out to do while she is around things will start disapearing off the table.... or she'll want to sit with me or fits.  Today she spent the day with her dad sooooo that means I got to do something crafty.   I decided to use these new stamps that I had gotten about a month ago from a Lady that had an online store and she has recently closed shop so now she is selling her stock cheapish.. so I got some things.  I will first post the picture, then say what copic markers I used and what non-copic markers I used (I only have 6 of them), as well as what stamp I used underneath the picture.

First one:

I used Copic markers for this picture were E00, E02, B12. B05, BV00, BV04.  Then the yellow and green and brown colours were just crayola markers that I had.   The image was from the Penny Black - Beach Day stamp set.

Second Image:

For these birds I used BV00 for base colour and BV04 for the darker colour.  The second bird I used B12 as the base colour, then B05 as the darker colour.  The image was from Autumn Leaves - mindy Zoo stamp set.  I really like these birds and think they turned out pretty cute.

Thrid Image:
For this image I only used one copic marker which was the BV00 for the purple monkey, the balloon and brown monkey I used regular crayola markers.   The image was a wood mount stamp that I got it is Stampendous - Changito's Love Balloon.

Fourth Image:
In this image I used a green crayola marker for the leaves, then I used B12. B05, BV00, BV04 for the folowers.  To stamp the images I used Memento - Tuxedo Black for all of the images.  The paper I stamped on was white cardstock from a neutral package I got from the Dollarama store.. which I LOVE! they have all kinds of good deals.  I got 50 8'1/2 x 11 cardstock sheets for $2.00.  Figured I couldnt go wrong with that.. and it worked great for the colouring.

Hope You all had a great Weekend!  Let me know what you think. =)  Toodles all.

Long time no Post - Mini book

Hello All,

Wow it has been a while since I last posted.  Sorry all, I have been busy with moving and other personal issues.  Time sure flies when your busy.

I decided to write this post as I watch a Tim Holtz video on him making a mini book using one 12x12 sheet of paper.   I made a couple of these books, one of them I followed the way he did since I had some really thin paper that I used and it worked awesone.

Instuctions:  (on how I did it)

First try it on a 12x12 sheet of paper that you dont care about.  Then fold the 12x12 sheet of paper in half then fold the side flaps in half to form a W, then flip the page and do the same folds on the other side.
Or you can score every 3 inches on one side then rotate the paper and do it again.  3
Once it is all folded unfold the paper to make your first cut.   Cut down the center fold(or score line)  all the way to the last score line (DO NOT CUT IN HALF)

Then you flip the paper over and cut on the first score line (3 inch mark) and cut all the way to the last score line.  Do the same to the last score line.   Which will make another W.

Then start folding from the right hand side of the W and fold forward, backwards, then with you get to the side fold, fold under, and repeat all the way to the end.

Not its time to glue.  when I glued the first one I followed the way Tim did it.  Which is opening the book where you have 3 squares before it folds under on either side.  He put adheasive on all 3 squares then folded the first flap behind so that you would have a thicker front and back cover.  Watch the video for it to make more sense.

When I made my second one I glued it so that I had a single page, then pocket on top and to the sides.  Since the second paper I used was solid white and thicker so I didnt want a super thick front page instead I am going to make a chip board cover to make it an actual book where I can put more tags in my book for more pictures or journaling.

I will post pictures once I get my camera back.

Thanks all!

Hope you all are having an creative day!

Happy New Year all! Best of Luck in 2011

Hello All,

Sorry I have not posted in a while I have been busy with my daughter and thinking of crafts to do.  Last night I managed to find some time for myself, I made a few things.  I am going to try and turn these items into magnets.  I had some dominoes that I had gotten from the dollar store last year when I made magnets out of photos and used diamond glaze on them so that the image was enlarged.   Sooooooo I decided I didn't want them black and started out as a curiosity thing so see what was under them as I thought originally they were plastic... however with sanding them down I found out there actually wooden.  So after they were sanded down I liked them a lot better.  I used some pink designer paper I had gotten from the dollar store a few months back and used my atg gun to adhere the paper down, then I stamped "Love" onto white card stock them put diamond glaze over the entire top so I am just waiting for them to dry.  I am also trying something new with one of my new dollar stamps from Micheals that says "dream" all fancy.  So I stamped it on white cardstock and put diamond glaze on top when it is dry I am going to cut it out and put it on some designer paper then use a flat magnetic back.   I will have picture when they are done, and I remember where I put my camera.  I tell ya after having a baby my brain has never been the same.  lol.  So far I love how it has turned out.  I am planning on doing a lot more crafts this year, and hoping that I will be able to update my blog more often.   I have also been making some svg files, I am going to cut the images out to see how they look and I will post the project and if you like it you can email me and I will send you the image.  I am hoping to be able to get that done by the end of the week, however if I end up getting a job by the end of the week it may be challenging to get it up by then.

I would like to wish you all the best in 2011 and I apologize in advance for any grammatical errors.
